England vs Switzerland: Three Lions start as overwhelming favourites
England are overwhelming favourites to beat Switzerland in their Euro 2020 quarter-final on Saturday.
Gareth Southgate's side are ranked fourth in the world, while Switzerland are 13th. England also have a better head-to-head record against Switzerland, winning four of their seven meetings.
On paper, it should be an easy win for England. Their squad is simply better than Switzerland's in every position. They have three players who are arguably the best in the world in their respective positions: Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.
Switzerland, on the other hand, have no players of that calibre. Their best player is probably Granit Xhaka, who is a good midfielder but not world-class. They also have some good young players, such as Breel Embolo and Denis Zakaria, but they are not yet at the same level as England's stars.
That said, Switzerland are a well-organized team and they will be difficult to break down. They are also capable of causing an upset, as they showed when they beat France in the group stage.
However, England will be confident of victory. They have a better team and they have more experience in big games. If they play to their potential, they should be too strong for Switzerland.
